Aims: CSIE is the Centre for Studies on Inclusive Education. It is an independent centre working in the UK and overseas to promote inclusion and end segregation. It is funded by donations from trusts, foundations and grants.
It gives information about inclusive education and related issues. The Centre:
produces and sells booklets on good practice, summaries of law and conference reports,
publishes regular analyses of LEA trends in special school placements,
collects information from schools, colleges, parent groups, other organisations, government departments and from overseas,
answers queries on law and changing practice.
works directly with parents and with disabled adults,
organises national and regional conferences,
supports parent campaign groups, families and schools,
puts in touch those running effective inclusive education with those who wish to do the same,
submits evidence and commentaries to central and local government,
works with other organisations, here and overseas, committed to inclusive education.
